  • Description: The model that put G&S on the map in 1963. Designed by Larry Gordon & Floyd Smith with the input from Skip Frye and Mike Hynson, the Quarter Speed's main feature was having the wide point moved close to center for increased control and easier turning from the middle trim position. A great all around board made for a wide range of skill levels and surf conditions that offers the perfect blend of speed and maneuverability. Features a medium wide outline with semi blunt nose, wide point near center with with semi parallel rails and curved hip in the tail for quick smooth turns. Rails are "user friendly" with full 50/50 throughout for stability. Bottom contour is flat bottom to rolled "Vee" in the tail with concave in nose optional. Rocker is even and balanced for all around performance and maximum stoke.

  • Fin set up/ Options: Recommended as a Single Fin.

  • Standard Construction U.S. Blanks Blue or Green Density Foam with a 1" T-band with high density foam Stringer 2-Layers of 6oz Glass on the deck with a Volan Deck patch and 1- 6oz Volan on the bottom  with cut-laps for a classic clean look. Wet Sanded Gloss or Gloss & Polish finish.
